Right or Wrong

Vamos continuar. Na última semana, nós falamos sobre a realidade. Na primeira semana, essa é a terceira semana. Na terceira semana que nós estamos fazendo um serviço em inglês. E durante esse serviço, eu falo um pouco em português também. Só para não perder as pessoas. Eu vou jogar os dois lados. Mais em inglês do que em português. Mas, de vez em quando, se eu vejo aquelas caras de cachorro perdido na rua, eu vou falar alguma coisa em português. Mas, também, se eu falo uma palavra que você não entenda, pode parar. Levanta sua mão. Fala, bicho. Espera aí, espera aí. Qual foi aquele lá? E daí eu falo de novo, mais devagar.

Ou explicar o que é. Porque, às vezes, talvez eu vou usar uma palavra em inglês que você não sabe ainda. Mas, agora, agora, vamos voltar para o inglês. O primeiro mês, nós falamos sobre o que é a verdade? O que é a verdade? E quando people tentam definir a verdade, às vezes é difícil. Porque, o que é a verdade? Eu não sei. Eu não sei como definir a verdade. E o que nós determinamos é que a verdade não pode ser verdadeiro e ainda não pode ser verdadeiro. Truth has to be absolute. A verdade não pode ser relativa. Because reality is something that can change. Your reality today can be different tomorrow. Like we talked about you can be poor today and not have a car and not have shoes and not have food. And how do we determine? How do we know if something is right? How do we know if something is wrong? Do you know the difference between right and wrong? You do. You know what's right and you know what's wrong. How? How do you know the difference?

How do you know what's right? Because your mom told you? Because your pastor told you? Because God told you? Because you feel it? You think? I think this is right. I feel like this is right. But I think this is wrong.

So, what we're going to talk about is how do we know the difference? Como nós sabemos a diferença entre o que é certo ! E o que é errado! é é

But if you do it at João Vitor's house, it's probably wrong too. But maybe there's a house where you can burp. In some cultures, in some countries, if you burp after you eat, they like it. It's a compliment. And it's like saying, hey, that was a really good meal. Burp. Burp. Burp. Burp.

So, sometimes right and wrong, like we have rules in my house. My kids have rules. They have to obey. But my rules might be different than your rules. But, there is certain things, or there are certain things that are right and wrong, fixed. That don't change. Things that God says are right and wrong. Because what's happened is the world has tried to make right and wrong relative. And they say that your right might not be my right. Your right might be my wrong. So, I can decide for myself what's right. Because you tell me you're a Christian and you tell me I can't have sex with my girlfriend. You tell me it's wrong.

But I think it's right. So, there has to be certain standards. Nós temos que ter certos padrões, certos padrões que não mudam, que são fixos. Because you have like the professors in the faculdade, in the colleges today, that tell you there are no absolutes. No existe absolutes. There are no absolutes. And then we need to ask him, are you absolutely sure? Você tem uma certeza absoluta? It's ridiculous, the arguments that they use to try and knock down God.

They use all kinds of silly ideas and silly things that don't make any sense. But nobody thinks to ask them, are you absolutely sure? Do you know that? Because maybe you're wrong. Maybe you're absolute. Not absolutes is absolute. Did you understand?

So, we have to ask ourselves, is that statement logical? Is it logical to say there are no absolutes? No. It sounds smart. It sounds really, oh, he's really smart. But it's really stupid. I don't know if you guys, if you spend time talking with like college professors, people who are supposed to be really smart. A lot of them are really dumb. E eles são os inteligentes. I saw this week again, more smart people, more smart people on the road asking for money. And they're so smart that they didn't have their shirts on and they were painted different colors. And somebody cut a hole in their hair and had a part of their hair missing because they're smart. That to me is not smart. To go out on the street, painted, and have your hair cut all weird and kind of dumb, asking for money so you can go get drunk. Is that smart?

No, that's dumb. Mas o mundo nos fala que eles são os inteligentes porque eles passaram, passavam o vestibular. So what we have to ask is, is there a right and a wrong? Because the world will tell us there is no right and wrong. There is no moral code. There is no moral standard. We determine what's right for me and you determine what's right for you. and you cannot impose or colocar your morals on me. You can't tell me what's right and wrong.

I can decide for myself. And that's what the world tells us today. Everybody's busy trying to defend themselves. I'll decide. I'll decide. Eu vou decidir por mim o que é certo, o que é errado. Você não pode impunhar as suas opiniões ou padrões morais sobre a minha vida. You can't. And that's okay today, but it's wrong. And the fact that we know, everybody knows right and wrong. It's something God put in us. It's not something we decide. Everybody, a child, a little kid, knows you're not supposed to hit. They hit, but you're not supposed to. And they know. And we know that we shouldn't steal. We know that we shouldn't kill.

My mom didn't have to tell me, Jeff, come here. Now, I want you to listen. Pay attention. I don't want you to kill anybody, okay? Because killing is bad. Bad. Bad. Killing is...

The dating. Oh, right. Right. Dating. Dating is bad. It is bad. You have to tell them. Yeah.

Uh-huh.

Right. We can figure it out for ourselves. Yeah. Right. How many... Do you guys have kids? You have children? Do you... Quantos de vocês têm filhos? Quantos de vocês têm falado para seus filhos? There is a right and wrong. The problem is that we don't always like right and wrong.

I don't like what's wrong because I want to do it. I want to do wrong things. Eu quero fazer coisas erradas. Eu não quero que você me dê um padrão, um sistema de regras que faça sim ou não. I want to do wrong things. And that's the problem with the world. The world wants to do wrong things. We want to get drunk. We want to have sex before we get married. We want to use drugs. And so the world, the world, the world tells us, You can't tell me that this is wrong. O mundo quer se embriagar, quer se drogar, quer transar. Por isso eles falam, nós não queremos saber. Dessa daí. Deus. Por um. But the world says, yes. Most people in the world say that having an affair is wrong. Except when maybe you like somebody a lot. Or maybe your marriage is bad. Maybe your marriage is bad. Maybe your secretary is pretty. And so the world comes up with excuses.

Traição nunca. Nos olhos de Deus está certo. Mas tem muitas pessoas que conseguem se justificar. Meu casamento é ruim. Meu marido me trata com o bicho. Ou minha esposa, ela não dá. A loja fechou meses atrás. E daí eu tenho desculpa por trair.

So right is wrong and wrong is right. And it gets confusing. If we don't have a standard for that. How many think it's okay to take something that's not yours to steal? Is stealing okay? Yes or no? No. No. No. If your family is starving. Sua família está morrendo de fome. É certo?

Roubar pão?

No. Mas o mundo vai te falar o que é. The world will tell you. Stealing is wrong. But if your family is hungry. If your children are hungry. It's okay. And they say that. But if somebody goes into their house. And takes everything in their house. It's not okay anymore. Stealing is okay. When you're stealing. But when someone steals from you. It's not okay. O mundo tem um padrão duplo. Para eles roubar. Depende. Depende das circunstâncias. Pode ser justificado. Pode ser não. Mas nunca é justificado alguém roubar eles. Nunca. Nunca. Mas aí eles morrem no padrão.

Deles. Ninguém vai chegar em casa e falar. Ah, mas tudo bem. Foi roubado hoje. Mas. Para ele. O cara que me roubou precisava. Era certo para ele. Porque a família estava passando fome. Então roubou tudo que estava em minha casa. Para poder vender. Para comprar comida. Para as crianças deles. Então está tudo bem. Quem? Nada? Quem? Nada? Ele vai começar a screamer, ele vai falar a polícia, ele vai ficar mad. Ele vai ficar mad. Você não pode steal. These são meus coisas. Você não pode tomar meus coisas. É errado.

É errado. Mas é quando nós vemos que é ridículo, é sério, é verdadeiro, é verdadeiro, que os coisas são relativas.

Como nós determina o certo e o certo? Como nós sabemos o certo? Como nós sabemos o certo? Tem duas formas. Duas formas que nós sabemos o certo e o certo. E so we see, we know that all rape, estupro, and murder, assassino, and lying, mentindo, and stealing, roubando, e tortura, torture,

are things that are wrong. They're wrong. Why? Because we wouldn't want any of those things to happen to us.

The person that says that there is no right and wrong would not agree with you that it's okay if they get raped. They just talk, but they don't really believe it. It sounds smart, but it's not smart. It's stupid. In Romans, when you turn it on yourself,

that's when you realize inside yourself, when we try and put ourselves in a situation, we realize that God put in us a conscience. my conscience that tells us this is right. This is wrong. We know that. And that's what Romans says in Romans 2, 14 and 15. It says, even Gentiles who do not have God's written law show that they know His law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God's law is written in their hearts for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right. Romans 2, 14 e 15. We need to ask God, forgive me. And that's why God sent Jesus to forgive us for the wrong things that we've done. And the other way that we know is like the Ten Commandments, os desmandamentos, outra maneira, os desmandamentos. E o que Jesus falava acerca disso, porque Jesus até mudou o jogo um pouco.

Look. God gave us stuff in the Bible and Jesus taught on it so we'd know right from wrong. And that's what we have here. God said, these are the things that will help you see. But today, the world kind of changed. Changed the Ten Commandments a little bit. Actually, somebody wrote and said, we need to make the Ten Commandments more modern. and wrong. It has to exist. And it's funny that the most of the rules in the world today come from the Bible. The Bible that people want to say that it doesn't have to do. Although it may seem attractive and intelligent to make statements such as I don't believe there's such a thing as right or wrong. It's really nothing more than painted stupidity.

True wisdom comes from God and in His wisdom, He's determined what is right or wrong and through Him and through His word and through our consciences, God tells us what's right and wrong.

So, so, when the world tries to tell us that right and wrong are relative, we know that they're wrong and it's not relative and we know that if it were to happen to them, they wouldn't like it. so, we know that truth is not relative, it's absolute.

We know that reality is relative, it changes. But we know that right and wrong that God has given to us as a standard is fixed, it's absolute, it's not relative. Okay? Did you understand? All of it, most of it, some of it.

If you keep coming, you'll start understanding all of it. Because you'll start getting used to hear my voice. Because we all talk a little different. We talk to some Americans and they talk like this and they say, well, it sure is good if you all came as soon as here or night.

And you go, huh? Or if you talk to my sister-in-law, my new cunhada.
